Persuasive Writing Project

Students will be working in Groups of 4 on a Persuasive Writing Project.

They are to create a poster/webpage/commercial about an item (either real or invented) that they would like somebody to purchase.
It must be at least one paragraph long, have pictures, propaganda, etc.

Literature Circles

Students started Literature Circles today!

Students are in groups of 4 or 5.

Lit. Circles will meet 3 times a week.
On Tuesday, students must come prepared, in their role, to discuss their 5 questions.
On Wednesday, students will be given time to do an oral read-a-loud for a chapter, will have time to work on their role for Friday, and will have time to work on the project.
On Friday, students must come prepared, in their role, to discuss their 5 questions.

Lit. Circles will be finished on May 14th. At that time, students are to hand in:
Lit. Circles Duo-tang and their final project (100 points).

Criteria: Students have what is required for the Circles as well as the final project in their Lit. Circle duo-tang.

Set-Up:

Each time students have a new role (Discussion Director, Connector, Word Hunter, Friends of the Character, Artful Illustrator), they need to set-up a new page.

Each page should look like:

Students come prepared with notes on their role.
Notes should be in this space.




2/3 or 3/4 of the way down, students should have left space to fill in notes from the other group members questions.
