Science Webquest: INSIDE EARTH

Our last science unit starts tomorrow!

Earth's Crust and Tectonic Plates!

Students will be completing a webquest in order to learn about the Earth's core.

Here is the website we will be using:

http://www.mrconant.org/science/webquests/insideearth/index.html

There are 5 parts to this webquest, students are to print off each question sheet (1 sheet for each part) and will have 1 computer lab block to work on each part + 1 extra lab for catch-up.  There will be a total of 6 computer blocks.

After all 5 worksheets are completed and handed in, students are to either
construct a layer of Earth model or a Plate tectonic model (NOT the Board Game)!

  • Layer of Earth model must include:
    • A colored sketch of the model and explanation of the material choices
      • (Due Wednesday December 12th)
    • Accurate representation of the 3 layers of Earth and sub-layers
    • Layers and sub-layers must be clearly labeled and described
    • Model must be proportional to the actual layers of Earth's interior
